Short answer
A man camp looks like a small gated town of steel container buildings: rows of multi-storey dormitory blocks with outside walkways and steel stairs, toilet and shower units beside each block, a long canteen made of joined units, and offices and a turnstile gate cabin at the entrance. Each dormitory room is one 5975 × 2435 × 2810 mm flat pack unit, so a block reads as a long row of identical rooms, each with its own door and window.
The Layout, Zone by Zone
- Entrance - an access control cabin with a guard room and a row of turnstiles, so people pass the guard one at a time
- Offices - site management offices and meeting rooms near the gate, often linked by glazed corridor units
- Accommodation - dormitory blocks in parallel rows with space between them for walkways, light and fire escape
- Washrooms - a five-stall toilet block and a shower unit placed beside each dormitory block
- Canteen and kitchen - several units joined into one long room, close to the kitchen services
- Stores and parking - tool stores, laundry and truck access, placed on the same layout drawing
What the Dormitory Blocks Look Like
Units sit side by side, each 2435 mm wide and 5975 mm deep, and stack into multi-storey blocks. Outside walkways run along the long side on the upper floors, reached by steel stairs. Every room has its own door and windows onto the walkway. The walls are EPS or rockwool sandwich panels, and the panel colour is chosen on your quote, so dormitories and offices can differ in colour and the layout is easy to read.
Inside, a room is a plain, fitted space: door, windows and industrial sockets, with beds and furniture set by how many workers share the room.
What the Shared Buildings Look Like
| Building | What you see |
|---|---|
| Canteen | Several units joined side by side into one long dining room |
| Toilet block | 5 squat stalls with partitions on one side; urinals and basins on the other |
| Men's and women's toilet | One container split by a wall, each side with its own door |
| Shower unit | 5 shower stalls with curtains plus basins, or 2 showers and 2 long wash troughs |
| Gate cabin | A closed guard room at one end; a roofed passage with turnstiles at the other |
| Offices | Single units or two-in-one offices with 2 rooms each |
