Short answer
Our folding container house is built to be folded and unfolded more than ten times, and each set-up takes about 3 minutes. Between moves it lasts as long as its galvanized steel strip frame, 50 mm rockwool sandwich panel walls and fold-line seals are kept in good order. We do not publish a life in years; we confirm the specification for your site on the quote drawing.

What Wears on a Folding Unit
A folding unit has the same frame and wall panels as other container houses, plus one thing they do not have: fold lines. The walls and roof hinge where the unit folds, and each fold and unfold works those joints and the seals along them. That is why we state a fold count - more than ten - rather than a number of years.
The other wear points are familiar. Paint on the galvanized frame gets scratched during lifting, the base must be level so the unit unfolds square, and water must not stand under the floor.
How to Get the Most Folds Out of Each Unit
- Unfold on a level, drained base so the frame is not twisted
- Follow our written and video guide each time - the order of steps protects the fold joints
- Check every fold line closes and seals fully after set-up
- Touch up scratched paint on the frame before the unit goes back into use
- Keep the unit dry and clean before folding it for transport
Folding or Flat Pack for Repeated Moves?
Both are built for more than ten moves. A folding unit stands in about 3 minutes and moves as one piece, so nothing goes missing between sites, and 17 fit on a 17.5 m truck. A flat pack unit (5975 × 2435 × 2810 mm) takes four workers about 3 hours to rebuild, but any single damaged panel can be swapped and only 9 fit on the same truck.
Folding units suit site cabins, guard rooms and emergency rooms that move often. For multi-storey blocks or a large camp, flat pack usually fits better.
Limits to Know
The 5900 × 2450 mm footprint is one room, about 14.5 m² outside. For larger rooms, units are placed side by side. The 50 mm walls suit most site work; for very hot or very cold sites, tell us the climate and we confirm the wall panel on your quote drawing.

Frequently Asked Questions
How fast does a folding container house set up?
About 3 minutes per unit once it is on a level base, following our written and video guide.
Can a folding container house be stacked?
Our catalogue shows folding units built as two-storey buildings with outside stairs. For your project, the floor count, stairs and base are confirmed on the quote drawing.
Does folding damage the walls?
The fold lines are designed to move. Wear shows first at the seals along them, so check they close fully after every set-up; each unit is built for more than ten folds.
